Note: This story is inspired by a story by beaweasley2, “Painted Domain.” The story can be found on this archive and is a very entertaining read. I highly suggest you check that story and her other work out. My mind turned to what ifs after reading her story. What does a portrait feel? What would happen if Severus and Hermione had reached an accord of some type and something happened to Hermione? What then? Hermione's Portrait attempts to answer those questions. Enjoy!

A/N: The story is written in drabble form, one hundred words per chapter. The brevity of the chapters forces the emotions to stand out sharply against the action. The first forty chapters were posted in the drabble collections – Round Nine through Fourteen. Since so many have asked me to post these as their own story, I’ve decided to compile them here. Originally written as a response to the GrangerSnape100 LJ challenge "Choices".

To use Southern's own comment: "Please be warned. There will be some purposely-placed author’s notes in the story. These are normally not allowed, but since this is a parody, I’m going to slip a few in. This story is definitely AU."

The idea for this odd fic comes from the Seinfeld episode, “The Apology.” The story runs backwards from the start of the episode when the group is attending a wedding in India, back to the beginning (or the very last scene of the episode) when the invitation to the wedding arrives in the mail, stuttering back randomly every few minutes as events are presented in reverse order.

Note: The Wanton(R) rating is basically for one word in the story, even the imagery is not as explicit as the rating.
